And as a Lancaster wedding photographer, I’ve had the opportunity to photograph weddings at some of these beautiful venues myself. What I Look for in a Wedding Venue as a Photographer
When my couples ask me what I think about a venue, I’m looking at more than whether it’s pretty.
Because here’s the thing:
Almost every wedding venue looks beautiful in its marketing photos.
But when I’m thinking about photographing a wedding there, I’m asking some different questions.
How is the light?
Natural light can completely change the feel of your photographs.
Where will you get ready? Is there good window light? What happens when the sun starts setting?
Is there variety?
I love a venue where we can create a gallery that doesn’t feel repetitive.
Different textures. Different backdrops. Different pockets of light.
What happens if it rains?
This one is HUGE.
I never want rain to mean your portraits suddenly become an afterthought.

Where will your portraits happen?
