Harmony Hall Estate Wedding | Jessica & Kevin Santmyer

Kevin and Jess met at a mutual friend’s (Matron of Honor, Carla) birthday party on July 19th, 2014. Jess spotted Kevin out on the porch and thought “oh, tall and handsome” and decided to make the first move; she invited him to sit at her table. They spent most of the party side by side. They exchanged numbers and started talking the very next day. Despite the distance between them, Kevin made the 1.5-hour drive from Maryland to Delaware for their first date. Although rain caused a change in plans for their kayak date, Kevin and Jess made the best of it with a movie day-in. After many tries of Kevin distracting Jess from the movie, they shared their last first kiss.

Their second date happened shortly thereafter. They were finally able to go kayaking and afterwards went for crabs. This perfect second date solidified their status as a couple.

After nine months of traveling back and forth between Delaware and Maryland, they decided to move in together in May of 2015. This took their relationship from boyfriend and girlfriend to best friends. For them, life felt more complete.

On October 13th, 2017 Kevin took Jess to their favorite spot in Deep Creek; Love Rock. While Jess was busy admiring the breathtaking scenery, Kevin was preparing for the most important question he’ll ever ask. He planned this moment out to be everything Jess would want; an intimate proposal in her favorite spot with him. He even hid the ring in his sock, so she wouldn’t feel it in his pocket while riding with him on the 4-wheeler to their spot. As Jess stood there with her back to Kevin, peering out at the fall covered trees, Kevin got down on one knee. As she turned around, the ring caught the sun and temporarily blinded Jess. Kevin asked her to marry him and after the moment of shock passed, she said yes!

The beautiful couple got married at Harmony Hall Estate in Middletown, PA, on September 21st, 2018. Their family and friends (including us!) had such a fun time celebrating the newly-wedded couple. We are so grateful to have played a small role in their day!

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Santmyer! We wish you all the best and can’t wait to see where life takes you.
